A Whole New World-- A "Beware The Batman" and "Green Lantern The Animated Series" crossover

I know it has been a long time since I updated this blog, but I'll make it up to you; here is my first crossover story featuring my two favorite characters: Katana  from "Beware the Batman" and Aya from "Green Lantern The Animated series".

The soreness of her arms grew intense. Honestly, Bruce had overworked Tatsu over the last week. Clad in only a creamy white undershirt grown pungent with overuse and dark sweatpants tightening around her ankles, Tatsu wondered how much more training she could take before she passed out for good. Even a date with Jason would have been better than this! Besides, Tatsu thought, smiling a little now as she rubbed her sore left arm, he's odd, but at least he is not like the villains that try to capture me. He at least calms the stress in my life. With a sigh, Tatsu ceased rubbing her left arm and started to rub her right. "Just breathe", she muttered, seemingly to her arms. "Remember, Bruce is thick-headed and unpredictable for one thing. For another, he is still weak and vulnerable. With a few more months, you'll see how strong he is. You'll see..." An ascending footfall jerked Tatsu awake from her scheming, followed by a sharp, staccato tap-tap-tap  on her door. Assuming it was Bruce, Tatsu stopped rubbing her arm and groaned, "Will you leave me the hell alone, Bruce?!", before swinging open the door. Surprisingly, it was Alfred, her godfather and Bruce's butler, who was on the other side of the door. He was a strapping man despite his old age, with grey eyes and a sharp, curving nose like an old falcon. His height was of over 6 feet and his broad shoulders made him seem a bit taller than he actually was. He was dressed in his usual butler attire: Black suit and tie with white cuffs, black pants with shoes to match. Tatsu always teased him about going for something brighter to wear, but she loved the outfit just the same. However, there was a different glow in his eyes as Tatsu stared at him blankly; there was a glow of excited fear.
"Tatsu, come down at once!" Alfred cried in a rush, forcing Tatsu to snap out of her daze and offer him a spot on her bed. Alfred accepted the offer but made no inclination to sit down. "Major, relax," Tatsu coaxed gently, "You've probably had a nightmare or something. Go to bed."
"Tatsu, I assure you," Alfred continued, his voice rising, "what I saw on the watch was no dream. I found a girl on our doorstep!"
"Does Bruce know about this?"
"I tried to tell him but he told me the same thing," Alfred replied, "the girl was about your age, I think ,and she had the most beautiful blue eyes you've ever seen. The peculiar thing I noticed about her: Her skin was green! Green as an emerald! We have a Green Lantern in our house!"
In stunned silence, Tatsu processed what she had just heard; to have a guest in the Manor at all was unusual, but a Green Lantern? Now that was something Tatsu had to see to believe. "If she is a Green Lantern like you said", Tatsu noted, ditching the rancid undershirt quickly for a new one, "then let's go see what she really looks like before Bruce judges her presence." Alfred nodded his reply and hurried out the door and went to tell Bruce exactly what he saw. Putting on her flat boots, knee-high at the height, was already tricky if she weren't rushing about like a hurricane making landfall towards the entrance. Now it was harder than ever for Tatsu to hurry up and meet Alfred and a reluctant Bruce Wayne at the door. Her sword strapped to her back was only complicating matters, for every time she sped up her run, the sword would drop to the floor and Tatsu, cursing under her breath in Japanese, rushed to pick it up before Bruce could yell at her. What is the big deal with a Green Lantern, anyway? Tatsu thought, Aren't they supposed to be on Oa, where they belong? Unless... the girl somehow had escaped.
